Cooper to distribute from Belgrade
ERJ staff report (BC)
Melksham, UK – Cooper Tire will open a 6,800 square metre distribution centre in conjunction with logistics expert, Milsped, in the Serbian capital of Belgrade, during December.
The centre, with capacity for 400 000 tires, will be located alongside Milsped’s corporate headquarters in the Krnjesevci area of the city.
The announcement of the new centre comes one year on from the acquisition of Cooper Tire’s Serbian production plant, which is located in Kruševac, south of Belgrade.
Primarily serving the Eastern European and Russian markets, the centre will also deliver across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The warehouse will hold products from all Cooper’s global manufacturing sources. Almost the entire European offering – from summer and winter tires to 4x4 and van products – is due to be stocked.
Most tire sizes will be UK and Serbian-produced, with Chinese and American-manufactured tires also available. Mixed product deliveries from different sources will be possible.
Cooper aims to cover 80 percent of mainland Europe within 48 hours.
Sarah McRoberts, Marketing Communications Manager for Cooper Tire Europe, said:
“Serbia is a key strategic location for us and we’re very happy to be working so closely with Milsped and to deliver the most complete service possible.”
