Faba adds service operations across Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia
Hanover, Germany – ContiTech has acquired Bahrain-based Faba Commercial Services, expanding its conveyor systems and services business in the Middle East.
Effective 1 Oct, the transaction adds 130 employees to ContiTech's Industrial Solutions EMEA business, said ContiTech. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in Bahrain in 2007, Faba provides installation, maintenance and servicing for material-handling and conveyor systems, with operations in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
The two companies have worked together on conveyor projects in the region for several years, said ContiTech in a statement 1 Oct.
“With Faba, we are further advancing our global Total Conveyance strategy,” ContiTech head Philip Nelles said.
The acquisition, he added, supports the company's ambition to become "a leading global full-service provider for conveying operations.”
Faba's current owners, Julian James and Bart de Jong, will remain in their leadership positions following the acquisition.
ContiTech said the acquisition would expand its service network for customers in mining, ports and bulk-material handling.
“The Middle East and the broader MENA region are among the most important growth markets for our conveying solutions business,” said Manja Greimeier, head of ContiTech's Industrial Solutions EMEA business.
