Lack of power means production is suspended at Sumitomo's plant in Fukushima

Kobe, Japan - Sumitomo Rubber Industries has reported that its car tyre plant in Shirakawa City,Fukushima Prefecture suffered no material damage in the recent earthquake, but it has no power, so production is suspended.

The company said in a statement that staff are working to establish the safety and operability of the plant.
