SchäferRolls to increase in crane capacity at Renningen
ERJ staff report (LMH)
Renningen, Germany -- Roll cover manufacturer and roll systems supplier SchäferRolls GmbH & Co. KG has increased its crane capacity at its Renningen plant, as part of its investment plans.
The installation of a new overhead crane with a lifting capacity of 50 tonnes required the strengthening of crane girders and the building structure, Schäfer said in a 2 April news release.
The new crane and the two existing 25 tonnes overhead cranes in the hall now make it possible to move rolls and roller systems with unit weights of up to 100 tonnes when the three cranes work together.
This means that the production areas at SchäferRolls now fully meet the prerequisites for coating and servicing the largest and heaviest roll systems used in modern industrial machines, which has significantly increased the flexibility of the company's production facilities, the company said.
