Update: Lanxess moves rubber chemicals boss
ERJ staff report (PR)
Cologne, Germany – Speciality chemicals company Lanxess has announced that Luis López-Remón - head of the group’s rubber chemicals business since 2007 - is now leading its leather business unit.
López-Remón took over his role last month, succeeding Markus Eckert, who is now head of corporate development at Lanxess.
The rubber chemicals business unit is now to be led by Anno Borkowsky, within his role as head of the new Rhein Chemie Additives (ADD) business unit, a Lanxess spokesman told ERJ.
Under a restructuring plan, announced 6 Aug, Lanxess is combining the rubber chemicals unit's specialty chemicals product line and its functional chemicals (FCC) business unit with Rhein Chemie to form the new additives-focused ADD unit.
Asked if the management rejig meant further changes for Lanxess rubber chemicals operations, the spokesman said: “At the moment we cannot speak about changes. This is under discussion.”
López-Remón’s career includes senior roles at Air Products and Chemicals Inc. and Bayer Chemicals. From 2004 to 2006, he headed up Lanxess’ textile processing chemicals business and since led the rubber chemicals unit.
