China’s tire maker General Science opens US subsidiary
Wuxi, Jiangsu – China’s TBR maker General Science in January opened a new overseas arm in the US.
Named General Rubber North America, the subsidiary is fully owned by General Science with $2.5 million (€2 million) registered capital.
The figure for capital though, is significantly behind the “up to $5 million” cited when the plan was first announced in August.
Although registered in Georgia, the subsidiary’s office is currently opened in West Covina, California.
The office will move to an as yet unspecified city in Georgia, once the personnel are ready, the company told ERJ.
The subsidiary’s business covers research, sales and international trade of tire, rubber and rubber products.
