Lawton, Oklahoma – Goodyear has stated a modernisation project at its Lawton, Oklahoma tire plant that will expand the factory footprint by 15,600 square feet.
According to a report by local news website South West Oklahoma News (swoknews.com), the $27.5 million (€25 million) upgrade will enable the plant to accommodate presses for larger-diameter tires.
The Lawton site went through two separate modernisation processes last autumn: a project to upgrade mixing equipment; and another one involving the replacement of five old tire-building machines with three fully-automated machines.
