Brussels – European Union passenger car registration posted a “record growth” for the seventeenth consecutive month, showing a rise of 6.7 percent with nearly one million units sold.
According to Brussels-based European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), some 999,157 car units were sold in the first month of 2015, with Spain registering a record high 27.5 percent growth. Italy, UK, France and Germany all displayed substantial growth as well.
January marked the 17th consecutive month of growth for the EU car market, heralding an end to the economic downturn in recent years, said ACEA.
