Lanxess increases prices for chloroprene rubber

Cologne, Germany – Lanxess announced a global price increase for its Baypren branded chloroprene rubber of up to €180 per tonne, it said in a press release issued last week.
The company said the increasing raw material and energy prices are the driving force behind this rise.
Baypren is used in applications such as cable sheathings, hoses, belts and air springs.
Lanxess is a specialty chemicals company with sales of €9.1bn in 2012 and roughly 17,500 employees in 31 countries. The company is currently represented at 52 production sites worldwide. Its core business is the development, manufacturing and marketing of plastics, rubber, intermediates and specialty chemicals.
