Hankook planning central R&D centre
Seoul, South Korea – Hankook is to build a tire test engineering centre in Sangju, South Korea.
Between 2013 and 2020, the firm will spend $37 million for the construction of the facility. Covering a total area of 132 hectares, the proving ground and test facility will enable testing of ultra-high performance tires, and truck and bus tires, according to Hankook. In addition, a test track approximately 30 km long will be able to emulate all-weather road conditions around the world. When complete the facility will employ 370, officials said.
