ERJ staff report (BC)
Detroit - The theme for the 2014 Michelin Challenge Design (MCD) competition will be “Driven/Undrivenâ€.
Entrants are asked to explore “the human connection to a vehicle and address the potential of autonomous motoring, as it opens new possibilities in automotive design.â€
They will design a vehicle of the future with capabilities and features to engage drivers both in an “Undriven†autonomous mode and a “Driven†driver-controlled mode.
John Moloney, vice president of original equipment marketing, Michelin North and South America, said: “The strength of the Michelin Challenge Design competition is its ability to explore themes within the automotive industry that have the potential to affect vehicle and tire design worldwide.â€
Final submissions are due by 1 June 2013.
