Lotus recalls 80 vehicles in US for hose problems
ERJ staff report (R&PN)
Washington DC -- Lotus Cars USA Inc. is recalling 80 Lotus Evoras manufactured between February and September 2011 because of problems with a three-part variable valve oil feed pipe assembly, Lotus told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Documents related to the recall may be found on the NHTSA website under campaign ID 12V477000.
A flexible section of hose that forms part of the oil pipe assembly may be defective, causing rupture and oil loss, Lotus said. Later-model Evoras have a one-piece, rigid pipe construction that do not have rupture problems, the company said.
Lotus will notify vehicle owners subject to the availability of replacement parts, it said.
