NR prices jump ahead of the weekend

London - Rubber prices rose strongly on Friday. On Tokyo's Tocom Exchange, prices for the six-month contract were trading up 6 at just below yen 263 ($3.39) near the end of the evening session on Friday. Shorter-dated prices were trading up 1 at yen 256 on Friday evening.

In Singapore, the March 2013 TSR20 contract on SGX rose by 6 to trade around at $2.97; October 2012 prices were up - by 8 -- at $2.92 toward the end of the Friday evening session.

In India, NMCE said October prices rose by 6 to close just over Rs 198 ($3.77). November prices also resumed the upward trend to close just over Rs 194.

In China the Shanghai Futures Exchange contract for October closed up 0.6 at Yuan 24.0 ($3.82) per kilo on Friday. November prices were also higher, to close at yuan 24.2 (from 23.5).
