Kolon to challenge court ruling banning its production of para-aramid
ERJ staff report (DS)
Richmond, Virginia - Kolon Industries said it is disappointed with a court ruling that Kolon may not make para-aramid fibres for 20 years. Kolon will immediately file a motion to stay the order.
the US District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia (Richmond Division) ruled on a post-trial motion for a permanent injunction filed in the case of E.I. DuPont de Nemours v. Kolon Industries.
Kolon said in a statement, “The US court's order that Kolon suspend its worldwide production and distribution of aramid fibers wrongly prohibits Kolon from using technology that Kolon developed through years of research and investment in Korea that has no connection to DuPont's claims. “
