Hangzhou Zhongce to build massive plant in Jiangsu Province
ERJ staff report (DS)
Birmingham, UK - Westlake Tyres, a brand name of Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Co. (ZC Rubber), said it has bought a large parcel of land in Jiangsu, upon which it intends to build a new tyre factory.
Johnson Su, Manager, Import & Export at ZC Rubber said said that the purchase will double the existing ZC Rubber factory land area and is in addition to the new factory recently opened in Thailand.
These new factories will add capacity for many millions (unspecified) of tyres and, while the domestic market will account for some of these, ZC Rubber has its eyes firmly set on export markets, with Mr. Su revealing that the company plans to double its export sales, certainly within a decade, if not sooner.
Mr Su pointed out that Westlake tyres are already REACH-compliant and, when it comes to labelling, he suggests that this could provide a great marketing opportunity.
