Michelin scores in US tyre loyalty survey
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tustin, California - A survey of 15,000 vehicle owners shows tat Michelin brand tyres are most preferred, followed by Pirelli brand. However, in the UHP segment, Yokohama scored top, while Hankook won top honours in the Sport/Touring segment and Firestone (remarkably) won the Winter tyre honours.
In its Replacement Tire Buyer Dynamics and Satisfaction Study, AutoPacific surveyed over 15,000 vehicle owners who bought replacement tyres over the past twelve months. Twenty-eight replacement tyre brands were surveyed. The study was used to determine what is important when choosing a replacement tyre and which tyre brands provide the most satisfying experience in seven basic categories of tyres.
Each tyre buyer rated the importance of, and their satisfaction with, fourteen different tyre characteristics including: safety, durability, price, wet traction, handling, mileage warranty, brand reputation, ride comfort, dry traction, fuel efficiency, tyre noise and appearance, snow traction and off-road capability. Using these data, AutoPacific calculated the overall winner and the top rated brand in each category.
