Small fire in Melksham tyre plant - no-one hurt
ERJ staff report (DS)
Melksham, UK -- Cooper Avon Tyres suffered a small fire in the curing area over the weekend - no-one was hurt and production was not affected.
Local press reported it as a major fire, with multiple fire-fighting resources required, but a spokesman said, "The damage to the factory and equipment was minimal. It was all cleared by the end of the weekend and, because there are no weekend shifts at the factory at present, there were no staff injuries. Production resumed as normal on Monday morning so there was no loss of production."
