Bridgestone contributes more to Tohoku disaster relief funds

Tokyo -- Bridgestone Corp. has said its group subsidiaries and other related companies will donate a further US$ 0.9 million (approximately ¥77 million) in total following The 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami.
Bridgestone said on March 14, 2011 that it will donate ¥200 million (approximately US$2.3million), and products such as bicycles and bedclothes worth ¥100 million (approximately US$ 1.2 million) to help those who have been affected by the disaster.
In addition to the efforts, its group subsidiaries and other related companies worldwide have donated to respected relief agencies such as the Japanese Red Cross Society to support the relief efforts. The subsidiaries include Bridgestone Americas, Inc., a group subsidiary controlling the operations of the Americas, which has donated US$ 0.25 million, and Bridgestone Europe NV/SA, a group subsidiary controlling the operations of Europe, which has donated 0.25 million Euro.
