REIG announces technical rubber meetings

Leicester, UK -- The Rubber in Engineering Group has announced a meeting on the Emerging Technical Challenges for Rubber, to be held on 19 March 2010 at Trelleborg Industrial AVS in Leicester, UK.
The days programme will include a presentation by David Kind of Trelleborg Industrial AVS, which discusses fire safety improvements of polyisoprene rubber compounds; a paper from Phil Duke, DSTL, discussing the use of rubber materials in defence applications; and a presentation from Daryl Stroud focusing on challenges in oil exploration.
Separately, REIG has also issued a reminder call for papers for its conference on the Modelling of Elastomeric Materials and Products. The closing date for papers is now the 28 Feb 2010, a statement from the rubber group said.
The two day conference will be held at 1 Carlton House Terrace, London, UK on 14 - 15 Oct 2010. Abstracts of less than 200 word should be sent to Alan Muhr (amuhr@tarrc.co.uk) and include details of authors and their affiliations, the statement said.
The conference is designed to share advances and opportunities in practical design methodology for elastomeric engineering products.
