Local natural rubber hits all-time price high in Malaysia

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia - The price of Malaysian natural rubber closed at an all-time high on 26 May, adding to fears of limited global supply, according to Malaysia press reports.
Quoting figures from the Malaysian Rubber Board, local press reported the sellers' closing price for tyre grade standard Malaysian Rubber 20 (SMR 20) as 976.5 cents per kg, a rise of 11.5 cents from its Friday close. Meanwhile, latex in bulk increased to 632 cents per kg from the previous 625.5 cents.
