Avon secures contract with US government

Cadillac, Michigan -- Avon Rubber plc's protection business has been awarded a $1.1 million (Euro 747 634) research and development contract with the US Government for the worlds most compact escape hood.

Avon said in a 3 Jan statement that the hood, which will provide protection against CBRN agents, is based on enhanced technology from its Protection's EH20 Emergency hood and will meet US Government requirements.

It will be a “lightweight chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hood for emergency responders,” said Avon.
