Düsseldorf, Germany - Kraton's recent expansion of its isoprene rubber latex facility in Paulinia, Brazil, is allowing it to move into the premium dipped rubber goods market. The company is now supplying its materials to SSL international as the raw materials for the Durex Avanti Ultima products range. Previously this product was made from a dipped polyurethane material but now, said Kraton, Durex is converting away from polyurethane to synthetic isoprene rubber latex.
The move into condoms builds on Kraton's success in the surgeons' glove field, where the company's products have carved a growing niche in the market for NR latex-free products which can deliver the same tactile performance as NR latex as well as guaranteed freedom from natural rubber latex proteins.
