Wilmington, Delaware--Ferro Corp.'s Advanced Polymer Alloys division and TPE Solutions of Shirley, Massachusetts, have agreed to co-develop new elastomer materials based on APA's line of Melt-Processible Elastomers.

TPE Solutions, a US distributor of thermoplastic elastomers set up last year by TPE industry veteran Jonas Angus, also agreed to become a distributor of APA's products.

"By combining TPE Solutions' creativity and market knowledge with APA's polymer manufacturing skills, we're able to better educate customers about material solutions and enhance the value of our products," said Jeff Senich, business development manager for APA.

"We expect the product development side of our relationship to result in bringing innovative new products swiftly to market," said Angus, president of TPE Solutions.

APA's product line includes Alcryn Melt-Processible Rubber, DuraGrip TPE and DuraMax.

Angus started TPE Solutions last year after Solvay Engineered Polymers bought Thermoplastic Rubber Systems Inc., a specialist in TPE compounds he had co-founded in 2000.
