ExxonMobil and employees commit $5 million towards disaster relief
Irving, Texas-Exxon Mobil Corp. and its employees are contributing $5 million to assist relief efforts following the 26 Dec earthquake and resulting tsunamis in Southeast Asia. The company said it will also match employee and retiree contributions to the relief effort around the world.
ExxonMobil affiliates have immediately donated in-kind assistance, including air transport for medical personnel and provision of much-needed supplies, to relief efforts in affected countries, said a statement from the company.
ExxonMobil affiliates employ approximately 5000 people in India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, and have oil and gas production and petroleum and petrochemical refining and distribution businesses in those countries.
