Firestone East Africa, the Kenya-based tyre maker, is reportedly investing 114 million Kenyan shillings (€1.2 million) in a new truck- and bus tyre building line. The investment comes after a Sh 160 milliion investment in factory space in a free trade zone.
According to a long report in The Nation, A Kenyan newspaper, these investments are part of a substantial long-term strategy to build sales in the surrounding region and reverse the company's recent decline in profits.
