Company targets growth in N. America, Costa Rica as it strengthens moulding & assembly business
Beverly, Massachusetts – Freudenberg Medical is planning to expand its silicone and thermoplastic moulding operations in North America and increase manufacturing capacity in Costa Rica.
The plans were outlined in a 10 Oct announcement confirming the appointment of Mark Gomulka as president of the company's 'moulding & assembly' business, effective 5 Oct.
Freudenberg said Gomulka would oversee the “continued expansion” of its North American moulding operations, including the integration of thermoplastic and silicone moulding capabilities.
He will also lead growth initiatives at the company's two manufacturing sites in Coyol, Costa Rica, “expanding capacity and supporting customer growth across the Americas.”
The company did not provide investment figures, capacity details or a timetable for the expansion projects.
Gomulka's responsibilities will cover global moulding and assembly operations, including thermoplastic and silicone moulding, extrusion and assembly facilities across North America, Europe and China, as well as Costa Rica.
A key priority will be to strengthen programme management and operational execution, including new product introduction processes.
Freudenberg said the measures would support the expansion of its manufacturing capabilities and global operations.
