German automotive components manufacturer buoyed by second quarter gains
Dettingen/Erms, Germany – ElringKlinger AG reported that – despite a 0.2% decline in global vehicle production – the group increased second quarter revenue by 17.3% year-on-year to €478.9 million – including positive currency effects of €2.1million.
The prior-year quarter, noted the Dettingen/Erms-based group, included M&A effects of €6.3m from the divestment of UK subsidiary Hofer Powertrain Products UK Ltd.
Growth was “driven primarily by the ramp-up of e-mobility series-production projects and one-time ramp-up effects totalling €28.1m,” according to the auto parts maker.
The performance included revenue gains at the group’s Lightweight & Elastomer Technology and Sealing Solutions & Engineered Metal Components business areas.
The latter was formed 1 May, through the merger of the former Metal Sealing Systems & Drivetrain Components and Metal Forming & Assembly Technology business units.
Regarding earnings, ElringKlinger reported a second quarter adjusted EBITDA increased by 6.6% year-on-year to €53.5 million
“Revenue grew across all segments, while we continued to scale our e-mobility business and strengthen profitability and cash flow,” said Thomas Jessulat, CEO, ElringKlinger Group.
“With an adjusted EBIT margin of 6.4% in the first half, we are on track to achieve our guidance of around 6 to 7% for the 2026 financial year,” added Jessulat.
