Chinese tire maker expects ramp-up to full designed capacity at Morocco plant by end of 2026
Shanghai, China – Sentury Tire has signalled that orders from European customers have started to recover following disruption caused by the EU’s anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese tire imports.
In responses to investor questions published 8 May, Sentury said European customers had delayed orders following the EU’s anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese tire imports launched in 2025.
Order conditions, however, “improved significantly” following implementation of the ‘trade protection measures,’ which included the expansion of global footprint.
Furthermore, Sentury said it introduced broad price increases during the second quarter of 2026 after considering factors including production costs, end-market demand and brand positioning, to help stabilise revenue.
“Order demand [at overseas plants] continues to exceed supply,” the company stated, adding that the company’s facility in Tangir, northern Morocco, is currently running at maximum capacity while being ramped up to full capacity.
With orders exceeding available output, Sentury said it expects the plant to reach full designed production capacity of 6 million units of passenger car tires per year before the end of 2026. (ERJ report)
The company also confirmed the Morocco operation achieved profitability during the first quarter of 2026 after reporting losses during its initial small-scale production phase in 2025.
In Thailand, the company said its tire plant is currently operating at full production capacity.
Asked about its overseas expansion plans under the “833plus” strategy, and whether or not the next facility will be located in Eastern Europe, Sentury said it will disclose information “if there are relevant plans or progress.”
Sentury currently operates a 15 million units/year plant in Jimo, Qingdao, Shandong and a site in Rayong, Thailand, with a capacity of 5 million units/year.
