Organisational meeting of RMA non-tyre group open to all

Fairlawn, Ohio -- The non-tyre members of the Rubber Manufacturers Association, which are spinning off their group from the RMA, are inviting representatives from interested companies to their June 9 organisational meeting in Ohio.

The 37-member Elastomer Products Group, which is becoming independent from, but affiliated with, the RMA, will meet at the offices of one of its member companies, Veyance Technologies, at its headquarters in Fairlawn, Ohio.

The EPG, which will be renamed, plans to move its base from Washington to the Midwest. Its stated goals are to create an environment that allows each member company executive the chance to network, hear and particiapte in busines presentations and understand the industrial market via peer-to-peer engagement.

The June 9 meeting will begin with open registration at 9:15 a.m. After Tim Toppen, Veyance Technologies president and CEO, welcomes the participants, Charlie Cannon, president of the RMA, will talk about the evolution of the RMA and EPG.

The group's steering committee will be introduced, followed by an explanation of the vision for the group and input from members on the new direction.

Four business presentations also are planned, beginning at 11 a.m., on protecting yourself and your business from the 2010 customer; best practices utilising terms and conditions; a raw materials outlook; and anticipating the impact of healthcare reform.

The last segment of the day will be a member feedback, question and answer session. The meeting is scheduled to adjourn at 3 p.m.
