IISRP rejig prompts Asia section name change
ERJ staff report (PR)
Kyoto, Japan – The Far Eastern section of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) is to change its name to the Asia Pacific section.
The switch was agreed during a board meeting for the region at the Institute’s 55th annual general meeting in Kyoto.
“This decision comes when the IISRP has redefined its geographic alignment and follows recent action by our European members, now known as Europe, Middle East and Africa or EMEA,” explained James L. McGraw, IISRP’s managing director and CEO.
“This action, among others, is our continued effort to refocus our relevancy and implement our Strategic Direction Initiative approved at our 54th AGM,” McGraw added in a 20 May announcement from the AGM.
The IISRP is an international not-for-profit association with 60 corporate members, based in 21 countries. Member companies produce 80 percent of the world’s supply of synthetic rubber, says the IISRP, which is headquartered in Houston and has regional offices in Milan, Tokyo and Beijing.
