Dynasol plans expansion at synthetic rubber plant

Santander, Spain – Dynasol Group has recently presented plans for a capacity expansion project at its styrene-butadiene rubber plant in Santander to local authorities in Cantabria.

Currently, the facility has a capacity of 120 kilotonnes per annum of SBS and SEBS with a workforce of more than 400 direct and indirect employees.

The project, still at the engineering phase, will reinforce the position of the group as a strategic regional supplier, according to Felipe Varela, director of Dynasol Group. 

“This gives us sustainability in the face of what will be the post-pandemic and will allow us to be a more present competitor in Europe from Cantabria,” Varela commented in a company press release. 

The company’s statement did not include details about the size of the planned synthetic rubber expansion.

Dynasol, a joint venture between KUO and Repsol, claims to be a world leader in the synthetic rubber and rubber chemical markets with revenues of around €600 million and a production capacity of 500ktpa.
