Trade agency to investigate material injury to local manufacturers following petition filed by Zeon
Washington DC – The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has launched an anti-dumping investigation into the imports of acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) from France, Korea and Mexico.
The investigation, in response to a 30-June petition by Louisville, Kentucky-based Zeon Chemicals LP, will study whether the local industry is materially injured or threatened with material injury, as a result of the imports.
The Commission expects to hold a hearing on 21 July and reach a preliminary determination in 45 days, i.e. by 16 Aug.
The ITC’s views will be submitted to the department of commerce for further decision-making within five business days.
NBR in the latex form is excluded from the scope of this investigation.
Also excluded from the scope of this investigation is:
NBR containing additives (e.g. nitrile rubber further compounded with fillers, reinforcement agents, vulcanisation agents)
NBR containing rubber processing chemicals, NBR containing other materials used for further processing beyond the polymerisation process: and,
Hydrogenated NBR (HNBR) produced by subsequent dissolution and hydrogenation of NBR.
