Independent verification process estimates 26.274kg CO2e per 1,000 gloves
Shah Alam, Malaysia – Top Glove Corp. has obtained independent verification of the product carbon footprint (PCF) for its nitrile rubber gloves, becoming "the first glove manufacturer in Malaysia" to do so.
The verification was carried out for powder-free 3.5g gloves, by testing and certification company SGS under the ISO 14064-3:2019 verification process, said Top Glove 3 June.
The carbon footprint of the gloves was verified at 26.274kg CO2e per 1,000 gloves, based on a cradle-to-gate assessment, it added.
The Malaysian glove maker said the work builds on its earlier life cycle assessment (LCA) activities and comes as customers, regulators and other stakeholders place increasing emphasis on tracking greenhouse gas emissions across supply chains, including Scope 3 emissions.
