Czech investment increases storage capacity by 57% as tire maker targets faster regional deliveries
Seoul – Nexen Tire has expanded the automated finished goods warehouse at its manufacturing plant in Zatec, Czech Republic, in a move to enhance its supply security in Europe.
The expanded facility now has 57% higher storage capacity and will enable Nexen to implement a “just-in-time supply system” for customers in Europe, said the Korean tire maker 18 June.
The new warehouse was constructed as an automated logistics facility with a total floor area of 7,104 sq.m. and a height of 51 m, expanding storage capacity from about 530,000 units to about 830,000 units.
Nexen has been operating its European production facility since 2019, and expanded the site in 2024 to double capacity to 10 million units per annum.
Accordingly, to meet the increasing production volume and demand within Europe, Nexen proceeded with the expansion of its finished goods warehouse in October 2024.
The latest warehouse expansion, Nexen said, will improve production and logistics efficiency, “securing supply stability” and enhancing responsiveness to seasonal demand and customers across the European market.
