Workers vote for industrial action at ZF Lemforder sites in UK

London - Almost 100 GMB union members at ZF Lemforder sites in Darlaston and Solihull have voted overwhelmingly to take industrial action after rejecting the company’s layoff pay offer. 

In a 9 June statement, GMB said the 'slashing of the pay offer' would have resulted in employees losing money. The statement did not provide further details.

The union said it would now meet with representatives at the two sites to discuss strike dates and will be looking to take industrial action over the next six months.

“This result is a clear message that GMB members are not prepared to accept the offer made by the company,” said Russell Farrington, GMB regional organiser. 

The union, he said, is “more than happy” to continue discussions with the company to try and resolve this matter. 

ZF Lemforder manufactures intelligent chassis systems and includes rubber and rubber-to-metal parts in its portfolio.
