Group's Eldisy division develops and produces sealing systems for vehicle bodies
Preljina, Serbia – German manufacturer of automotive suspension and sealing systems Vorwerk & Sohn has started production at its greenfield plant in Preljina, two years after breaking ground on the facility.
Located near the city of Cacak, in central Serbia, the €60-million unit produces parts for car makers such as Audi, Damler-Chrysler, BMW, Bently, Volkswagen and Porsche, said a recent statement by RAS Development Agency of Serbia.
With an production area of 40 square kilometres, the plant current employs 175 people and aims to raise the number of employees to 1,000 in future expansion phases.
“We made the right decision by choosing Serbia, especially Cacak. Cacak has an excellent location, which became even better with the newly built highway,” said Jurgen Moller CEO Vorwerk Eldisy, the group’s sealings manufacturing unit.
The facility was opened in the presence of the president of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic and CEO Vorwerk Eldisy in Serbia Jurgen Moller in June.
The Vorwerk’s Eldisy division develops and produces sealing systems for vehicle bodies. Eldisy is an abbreviation for elastomer sealing systems, which Vorwerk said are manufactured using injection moulding and extrusion processes.
