Merger brings together together silicone & rubber moulding, precision thermoplastics processing and medical fluid-management technologies...
Butler, Wisconsin – Three US medical device component manufacturers have combined operations, bringing together silicone and rubber moulding, precision thermoplastics processing and medical fluid-management technologies.
MRPC, Plastic Design Co. (PDC) and Injectech are now operating as a single organisation serving the medical device, life sciences and bioprocessing markets, the companies announced in a recent statement.
The businesses, acquired by private equity firm Vance Street Capital between 2021 and 2025, have spent recent months integrating their leadership, engineering and commercial operations.
Among other products, MRPC manufactures medical device components using liquid silicone rubber (LSR), high-consistency rubber (HCR), synthetic polyisoprene, thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
The Wisconsin-based company specialises in silicone and thermoplastic injection moulding, overmoulding and bonding dissimilar materials, including silicone to plastic and metal.
Its capabilities cover medical components such as moulded silicone seals, alongside cleanroom assembly, packaging and sterilisation management.
PDC, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, specialises in precision and micro-injection moulding of engineering thermoplastics, including PEEK, cyclic olefin polymers and copolymers.
Injectech, headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado, manufactures fluid-management components, including luer connectors, check valves, tubing connectors and other products for medical and bioprocessing applications.
The combined organisation will offer “silicone and thermoplastic moulding, including LSR, HCR and rubber moulding” alongside precision micro-moulding and multi-material processing.
“This is an exciting step because it addresses a real challenge for medical device companies,” said Steve Sandbo, partner at Vance Street Capital and chairman of the combined company.
“Customers often have to coordinate several specialised manufacturers to move one complex program forward,” he added.
Greg Riemer, chief executive officer of MRPC, has been appointed CEO of the combined business.
“Together, we can take a customer from a micro-moulded component or a moulded silicone seal all the way through cleanroom assembly, packaging and sterilisation management,” said Riemer.
The combined company operates five manufacturing facilities in the US, which will continue with their existing teams, quality systems and certifications.
A unified company name and brand will be introduced in early 2027, with the transition taking place in phases.
The organisation also plans further investment in technology, manufacturing capacity and complementary capabilities, although financial details were not disclosed.
