Indian carbon black producer to help commercialise Chasm's nanotechnology
Mumbai, India – Indian carbon black supplier Birla Carbon and US-based Chasm Advanced Materials Inc. have extended their partnership with the aim to scale up to Chasm's nanomaterials technology.
The partners announced 29 Sept that they progressed an existing joint development agreement to a “strategic partnership” to commercialise Chasm's technology for hybrid nanomaterials which could be used in various market segments including high-performance tires, conductive plastics and novel coatings.
The nanomaterials are based on carbon substrates and carbon nanotubes and employ Chasm’s nanotube enhanced carbon (NTeC) technology.
“Birla Carbon’s investment will drive the commercialisation of NTeC nanomaterials, strengthening our ties with Chasm and securing the future of this game-changing technology,” said Birla Carbon CEO Dr. Santrupt B. Misra.
The two parties launched joint research and engineering cooperation in November last year to advance NTeC technology from lab-scale feasibility to a repeatable and scalable pilot.
“We're excited to continue building on our already strong partnership, driving NTeC’s next phase of commercialisation and broad market adoption,” said Chasm CEO and co-founder David Arthur.
