Moscow – Sibur Holding has named former managing director for economic and finance Alexander Petrov as the head of plastics, elastomers and organic synthesis division in a recent reorganisation of its top management team.
The management reshuffle is part of Sibur’s “new operating model”, which is intended to upgrade its organisational structure, business processes, and corporate culture, Sibur said 29 Sept.
In addition to his new position, Petrov will also oversee Sibur’s procurement activities.
As part of the restructuring former head of the plastics and elastomers division Pavel Lyakhovich, will lead the Russian group's basic polymers division.
He will continue to supervise Biaxplen, Sibur’s subsidiary specialising in BOPP film production, as well as lead polymer recycling projects.
Peter O'Brien, an independent director and chair of the audit committee since 2018, will join Sibur’s management team as managing director for economics and finance.
As Sibur strengthens focus on the petrochemicals sector, executive director, Sergey Komyshan will continue to oversee the expanding of the petrochemicals business and will be responsible for marketing, sales, business innovation and development.
“Changes to Sibur's management team are in line with the senior leadership rotation programme,” said Dmitry Konov, chairman of the Sibur management board.
“In his new role, Petrov will make use of his expert knowledge to facilitate synergies between the production and operations, on the one hand, and finance, on the other hand,” Konov said.
