The Future Tire Conference 2018, organised by European Rubber Journal, will be held  30-31 May, 2018 at the new Tire Cologne expo in Cologne, Germany.

As with previous Future Tire events, the staging at Messe Cologne will bring together top-level industry leaders and decision-makers from the tire and automotive industries to discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The conference will take place against a background in which the global tire industry is facing ever-growing demands to increase the sustainability of its manufacturing and supply-chain processes and of its products.

As well as dealing with these issues, tire manufacturers and their suppliers are also under pressure to adapt to trends towards digitalisation and connected mobility.

Subject areas for the Future Tire 2018 presentations and panel discussions will, therefore, include:

    - Towards a level playing field in global tire markets

    - Lowering the environmental impact of tires factories and tires

    - Game-changing developments that are redefining tires and the tire industry

    - Harnessing the power of digitalisation

Over the coming weeks, we will update ERJ readers about the conference programme and our plans for the event at Tire Cologne.

In the meantime,  please contact ERJ for more information about Future Tire 2018.

*See the ERJ Special Report in the Sept/Oct issue of European Rubber Journal magazine for the full Q&A interview with Bart Kalkstein about the future role of carbon black in the era of sustainability.
