Italian company’s board of receivers says deal marks ‘success of efforts to preserve business continuity…’
Nordborg, Denmark – Danfoss on 9 July signed a definitive agreement to acquire Italian hoses and fittings Alfagomma manufacturer, announced the Danish group – without disclosing terms of the previously signalled agreement (ERJ report).
Under the deal, Vimercate, Italy-headquartered Alfagomma will become part of the ‘fluid conveyance’ division within the Danfoss Power Solutions segment – creating a “leading global player in fluid conveyance.”
Within the announcement, the board of receivers of Alfagomma stated: "This transaction represents the successful outcome of a structured process aimed at preserving business continuity and securing long-term value for Alfagomma and its stakeholders.”
For Danfoss, said president and CEO Kim Fausing, the acquisition is an “important strategic step”: combining two businesses with complementary capabilities to enhance the Danish group’s position in global markets.
Danfoss Power Solutions’ Fluid Conveyance division manufactures hoses and fittings for applications including vehicles, aircraft, marine, mining, food and beverage, mobile and industrial equipment.
Founded in 1956, Alfagomma is a privately owned global manufacturer and distributor of hoses and fittings with 28 production and assembly sites, about 4,500 employees, and annual sales of around €600 million.
Sold under the Alfagomma, Dunlop Hiflex, and Argus brands, the company’s products are used in mobile hydraulics, industrial applications including mining and oil & gas, marine, shipbuilding, and other industries.
By combining technologies, manufacturing footprint and global market presence, we will “expand our ability to support customers wherever they operate across mobile and industrial hydraulics and other industrial applications,” said Daniel Winter, president, Danfoss Power Solutions.
Alfagomma will “add expertise in industrial applications such as oil & gas and mining where they truly excel,” added Winter. “We are bringing together two teams… that share a strong passion for solving complex application challenges.”
Added the board of receivers of Alfagomma: “In Danfoss, we have found the right, important industrial partner: a family-owned, leading global company… with a clear commitment to strengthen the operations, support the industrial base, and ensure stability, growth, and continued investment.
“We consider that this is the best possible outcome for the company, its employees, customers, and suppliers, and for the industrial communities in which Alfagomma operates,” added the statement from the receivers, appointed at in May 2025.
Subject to necessary approvals, the acquisition is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2026, with both companies continuing to operate independently in the meantime.
