Sumitomo completes new golf ball factory

Cikampek, Indonesia -- Sumitomo Rubber Industries has brought on stream its second golf ball factory in Cikampek, Indonesia. The new plant is adjacent to its car tyre factory in the same city.
The new factory is producing three-piece and four-piece balls in addition to two-piece balls which the Indonesian company has been producing since the beginning. Those balls are sold all over the world thorough Dunlop Sports Co. Ltd.
The company did not say what the capacity of the plant is, but noted that it has an area of 37,000 m2 and represents an investment of yen 1300 million (euro 13 million). It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of P.T. Sumi Rubber Indonesia.
