Investigations follow complaint from Canadian Retread Manufacturers Association, Michelin
Ottawa – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has launched investigations into alleged dumping and subsidising of truck and bus tires originating in or exported from China.
The investigations, initiated on 31 Aug under Canada’s special import measures act, follow a complaint filed by the Canadian Retread Manufacturers Association and Michelin North America (Canada) Inc.
The CBSA will investigate whether the imports are being dumped and/or subsidised and said it will make preliminary decisions within 90 days.
Following the probe, CBSA said provisional duties may apply.
Further information on the investigations will be provided in a 'statement of reasons', which the CBSA said will be available within 15 days.
