ContiTech expands production capacity at Hanover-Vahrenwald

Hanover, Germany -- ContiTech said it is expanding production capacity at its headquarters in Hanover-Vahrenwald. The company has initiated investments in the double-digit million range that are to be implemented by 2013.
“We are strengthening the existing expertise and positioning the location for a successful future,†said plant manager Konrad Müller.
Some 200 new jobs have been added since early 2010, ContiTech said, and further positions are to created by 2013. ContiTech has a workforce of around 1800 employees at its plant in Vahrenwald.
In Hanover-Vahrenwald, ContiTech is installing new production machines, expanding existing machines and building up the material preparation. Construction is to get underway for a new raw materials hall in 2011. All business units located at the plant will be contributing to the investments, ContiTech said in an October news release.
The ContiTech Power Transmission Group makes timing belts, V-ribbed belts and V-belts for car and truck engines as well as for industrial systems for worldwide demand.
At the Vahrenwald plant, ContiTech Air Spring Systems manufactures air spring system for commercial vehicles, rail vehicles and industrial applications. ContiTech said further investments are planned and have already been implemented here as well, since the demand for ContiTech air spring systems continues to rise.
