Zeon to add nitrile capacity in Japan
Rubber & Plastics News
Louisville Kentucky - Zeon Corp. will spend $1 million (Euro 711 000) to improve production procedures and boost NBR capacity at its factory in Tokuyama, Japan.
The measures will boost Zeon's NBR capacity in Japan to 55,000 metric tons a year from 45 000 tons previously, according to the company's US operation, Zeon Chemicals L.P.
Zeon said the increased capacity will allow for the transfer of 10,000 tons of NBR that previously were manufactured in the US for Zeon under a toll production agreement.
Zeon said it will continue to operate as normal its three North American plants, in Louisville; Hattiesburg, Missouri; and Houston.
