CGS buys Konty-G Czech rubber compounder

Zlin, Czech Republic -- CGS as (previously known as Ceska gumarenska spolecnost, a.s.) has bought a long-time supplier, Czech rubber compounder, Konty-G Trade, also based in Zlin.
Konty G makes compounds for the automotive and shoe sectors from materials including NR, SBR, BR and NBR. The company specialises technical rubber goods.
The company was set up in 1924 as a high volume shoe maker. Since 1998 it has restructured and focussed more on automotive compounds. The company has had a partnership with Continental since 2000.
It operates seven mixing lines, including four identical 245-litre units from the Buzuluk company and three 260-litre mixers from Werner & Pfleiderer.
The company processes around 40 000 tonnes of compound per year and generates sales of some KCS 1527 million (€ 58 million each year)
Company spokesman Smykal Roman said the deal was closed in November and the company expects to send out letters to customers and suppliers next week.
