Durex brand extends 'condom testers' marketing ploy
Toronto, Ontario - Condom manufacturer SSL is promoting its Durex brand through a clever marketing campaign which advertises for 'condom testers." The campaign idea ran initially in New Zealand in January this year and is now being extended to the US and Canada.
The company is asking sexually-active people (over 18 years) to sign up on two different websites -Â one for Americans another for Canadians -Â and complete an application. The application says the offer is limited to residents only of the relevant country.
Durex says, "As a requirement of the job, condom testers are then asked to provide Durex(R) with feedback about performance -- product performance that is. For his or her hard work, one lucky tester also will be rewarded a $1000 cash prize."
