Group moves to strengthen N. American BD operations, supply chain for high-performance elastomers
Tokyo – ENEOS Materials has begun integrating its operations with US chemicals producer TPC Group, following the completion of the latter's acquisition by parent company ENEOS Holdings.
In a 27 Oct announcement, ENEOS Materials said the two companies would begin "integrated business operations" under the Japanese group's ‘high-performance materials segment.’
The move brings together TPC's North American C4 chemicals business, including butadiene and polybutenes, with ENEOS Materials' existing chemicals and high-performance elastomers operations.
ENEOS Materials said it regarded TPC's "strong North American business platform in C4 chemicals, including butadiene" as an important foundation for future global growth.
The company plans to combine TPC's North American operations with its own business network, built primarily across Japan, Asia and Europe, to expand its international presence.
As previously reported by ERJ, the acquisition is expected to give ENEOS the world's third-largest butadiene production capacity. (ERJ report)
Houston-based TPC holds a leading position in North American C4 chemicals, including butadiene, raffinate, 1-butene and polybutene.
TPC reported consolidated sales of $1.5 billion (€1.3 billion) in 2025, down from $1.68 billion in 2024, while operating profit fell to $25 million from $118 million.
