Avon Technologies reports higher first-half sales and profit
UK supplier cites operational improvements, growing demand amid "rapidly changing geopolitical backdrop"
Melksham, UK – Avon Technologies plc has reported higher revenue, profit and margins for the first half of fiscal 2026, supported by operational improvements and growing demand across its defence and protective equipment markets.
In a 13 May trading update, the UK-based group said performance reflected progress made under its “STAR” strategy launched in 2023, as well as gains from its “strengthen system” operational programme aimed at improving execution and delivery performance.
The company also announced new contract awards, including a multi-year MITR respiratory protection contract with the Canadian Armed Forces and a $14 million (€12 million) filter contract award from the US Department of Defense.
“We delivered a strong first half performance, with revenue, profit and margin all up significantly, reflecting the long-term demand opportunity in our markets,” said CEO Jos Sclater.
The gain, he added, also reflect the progress Avon has in strengthening its operational execution, which he said has helped increase capacity and cash generation as the business moves “from stabilisation to growth.”
He added that demand across Avon’s installed base was increasing amid a “rapidly changing geopolitical backdrop,” while the company continued to see growth opportunities in international and adjacent markets.
