Guangzhou, China – Wanli Tire Co. Ltd. has submitted an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the third phase of its development project in Guangzhou, which will add capacity for 6 million passenger-car radial (PCR) tires per year.
According to the documents filed 24 Feb, the expansion will take place at the company’s existing manufacturing site in Conghua district, Guangzhou, which was most recently expanded in 2025 and has a capacity to produce 30 million PCR units per year. (ERJ report)
The project includes the construction of several new buildings with a combined floor area of about 138,200 sq.m, including a new production plant, a three-storey mixing facility, a power substation, an automated finished-product warehouse and a six-storey dormitory building for employees.
Wanli also plans to install new production equipment across multiple stages of tire manufacturing.
In rubber mixing, the company will add one masterbatch line, one final-mixing line and a new small-ingredient system, according to the company assessment report.
For calendering and extrusion, the project includes two four-component tread extrusion lines, one four-component sidewall extrusion line and a liner production line.
Additional equipment will be installed in other processes, including bead production, component cutting and tire building, with 14 new tire-building machines and 90 hydraulic curing presses planned.
The development will increase the site’s workforce by 550 employees, bringing total employment at the facility to 2,750 people.
Wanli said the plant will continue to operate on a 24-hour production schedule across four shifts for about 340 days per year.
The Phase III expansion will be built on land already reserved for development within the existing factory site.
